PORTRAITURE REDEFINED

PORTRAITURE REDEFINED

As part of the launch of the Huawei P10 smartphone we created an outdoor gallery experience in partnership with the Saatchi Gallery. With its Leica dual lens technology we commissioned some of the galleries most iconic artists, to redefine portraiture using the P10 without the use of any post production. These stunning new works of art where revealed to the world. Artists included; Chris Levine, Berndnaut Smilde, Jacob Aue Sobol, Laura Pannack, Stéphane Lavoué, and Josephine Meckseper. Their finished portraits became the heroes of our outdoor street gallery ‘Portraiture Redefined’ all composed using the Huawei P10.

“We commissioned a small group of artists to redefine modern portraiture in unique and personal ways. Each artist was also asked to loosely respond to a sub-brief of either studio, fashion, me or street, to try ensure diversity within the overall brief of new portraiture; but not in a prescriptive way.

The results have been truly diverse and arresting, with all of the artists choosing to work in very different environments and take the time to explore the Huawei P10 many unique features.”
